Commercial & Industrial Medium and High-Voltage Electrical

Most commercial electricians stop at 480V. Ambrose Power picks up where they leave off. We install, terminate, and splice medium-voltage cable. We set transformers from pad-mounts to large oil-filled units. We install switchgear, build duct banks, pull MV and HV cable through manholes and vaults, and install protective relaying. Our crews bring utility-grade skill and discipline to manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, and any commercial project that needs real medium and high-voltage construction. We build what your engineer designs, and we build it right.

Medium-Voltage Cable and Terminations

MV cable installation from 5kV through 35kV. Cable pulling, termination, and splicing. Stress cones, cold shrink, heat shrink, and premolded terminations. Indoor and outdoor terminations. Elbow connectors and separable connectors for pad-mount and switchgear applications. We also handle high-voltage cable systems above 35kV where the project requires it. This is the core of what separates us from commercial electricians. This work requires specific training, tooling, and experience that most electrical contractors do not have.

Cable testing and verification after installation. Hipot testing, VLF testing, and partial discharge testing in coordination with third-party testing firms. We install the cable system and make sure it tests clean before it gets energized.

Switchgear, Transformers, and Power Distribution

Switchgear installation from metal-clad to metal-enclosed, indoor and outdoor. Transformer setting and connection: pad-mount, oil-filled including large power transformers requiring crane lifts and oil processing, dry-type, and cast coil. Bus duct installation. We handle the receiving, rigging, setting, and electrical termination of this equipment. Whether it is a 2500kVA pad-mount or a 30MVA oil-filled unit, we have the experience and the equipment to set it safely and connect it properly.

Protective relay panel installation and wiring. We install relay panels, pull control cable, and terminate per the wiring diagrams and relay settings. CT and PT circuits, trip circuits, communication wiring. We do not set the relay settings. We make sure every wire lands where the drawings say it should.

Duct Bank and Underground Infrastructure

Duct bank construction: concrete-encased conduit runs for MV and HV cable. Trench excavation, conduit installation including PVC, fiberglass, and steel, concrete encasement, and backfill. We build manholes, handholes, and underground electrical vaults. Pull boxes and splice pits. This is the foundation work that makes the rest of the electrical system possible. We self-perform this civil and electrical scope rather than subcontracting it out.

We install conduit systems, cable tray including ladder, solid bottom, and wire mesh, and wireways for MV and HV cable routing aboveground as well. Rigid conduit, IMC, EMT, and PVC where the installation requires it. Cable tray supports, hangers, and fire-stop penetrations.

Manufacturing and Industrial Facilities

Manufacturing facilities with MV-fed equipment including large motors, VFDs, and arc furnaces. Industrial plants with complex power distribution, multiple voltage levels, and high-reliability requirements. These facilities need more than a commercial electrician. They need crews trained in medium-voltage cable systems, large transformer installations, and protective relay wiring.

We work alongside the general contractor, the engineer of record, and the facility owner. We are not the design firm. We are the contractor that puts the electrical system in the ground, on the racks, and in the gear. We build it, and our Field Services team can test and commission it. One company from installation through energization.
